> oops, been slacking on the updates again, sorry... <
But, I'll make up for it now, lots of new pictures from the last month or so... I'll try to split it up sensibly. This first few are from quite a while back - they slipped though the net along with the great casio crappy camera breaking bizniz. View from the booth in the DnB room at Fabric - when i played at the Breakbeat kaos night back in July With The Sarah's from Philly and Santa Cruz at Fabric The nasty woman we saw stealing someone's phone and reported them to security. Phone stealing, esp off poor drunk helpless kids at a rave who are more likely to need it to get home safely and all that, is Lowlowlow. Respect to the fabric security people for sorting it out and getting the phone back to the guy adn all that. In Lodz, Poland - for the 'Made in Poland' Party, with some of the local cluBBerz Thought it was funny some guy gave me his ID card to autograph. Some of the lovely sights in PolanD... Probably a bit too young for me though... Polish DnB people...

> John visits his Komrades in Moscow <
Thankfully I didn't have the same last-minute visa/passport dramas this time i went to Russia, although we did have to stress about flights, BA were talking about going on strike that weekend, and only other airline that goes to moscow is the Russian one, Aeroflot, which I've been on before and was GHeTtttTTttooo. like a bus in the sky, I swear they had people with goats and chickens behind me. Rough. Anyway, didn't have to go through that, although, as with every other flight I'd been on BA for the last 6 weeks, it was delayed by at least an hour. CraP. Anyway the trip was really good, lovely promoters organising it, good to be back in Moscow again - the club was rammed, about 800 people in there! Novak on the decks before me: Moscow KrU! Signing some Moscovite MidriFfs... And a (rather young-looking) boobie Not sure who that is/was but I presume they were important. Looks a little like a young karl Marx without the massivo beard... The hotel I stayed at - oh yeah i have to tell you about that later. The hotel Ukraine - I looked up its website before I went adn the guest book requests on there were hilarious - tonnes of Americans askign about procedures with escort girls and stuff! I was expecting to be herrrangued by hoards of escort girls in the lobby when i got back from the club, but i guess they'd gone home. Hmm. Not sure I like the idea of that anyway. Deffffinitely Not. The SputniK coach. To the Mooo-00N. All the guys that helped organise the party and looked after me when i was there. This is some massive park/monument we went to the day after the party. Trying to be arty My big gun This is the big obelisk thing at the centre of the park - its a memorial for the dead of WW2 i think, up close theres loads of engravings of war, and people's names and stuff. Pretty amazing, adn its Masssssive. Priviet Ya Komrade Bee. Spasiba. DevodjKaz. The big Orthadox Church at Red Square. Red Square and one of the Moscow DrumNBass lads. This is the place where they have Lenin's body there, embalmed, and if you line up long enough you can go in and check it out. They had already closed for the day by the time i got there. yesyes. So there you go, that's 24 hours in Moscow. Very nice I think you'll agree.

> Last night, in London <
Had a good day yesterday, got some work done in the afternoon, finished off the S'Express remix for Mark Moore, then went out with Steve to do some more rollerblading - I'm getting better... Then had a quick pint in town and got ready to go out. Managed to persuade Mattrick to come up on the train too, and we met my friends Yvonne and Bobby Jae, and Rachel from Knowledge Mag there later too. We went up to Electrogogo, at the Zoo bar, the new place it's moved to from Madame JoJos. Saw a mad Thai electrodiscopunk band called Futon and had a nice chat to them afterwards. We all got drunKen, and instead of Matt adn I getting hte 125 train as agreed, we stayed out till the eVil 335am one, a serious mission, and not a sensible one. Ended up going to Bar Rhumba/Movement afterwards to go checkout some DnB, Fabio was playing, with MC Moose when we got there, really good set from what i can remember - me and matt got interviewed for some random cable tv show, adn Im sure i looked completely nuts, i had loads of eye makeup on, really gothy, and i was kinda sozzzled. Then I think Roni Size came on as a special secret guest - but we were ready to leave by then, so zipped off to chinatown to find fooD - adn had the Bessssst ever beef curry i think EvAr. I hope I can rememeber how to get back to that place. We managed to go grab a minicab adn raced to get the train, jsut managed. It was totally full of loads of sleeping mashed up people. i wanted to go through the cabin and take a big collection of pictures of everybody that was asleep for some sort of artyphoto thing - but decided it was a bit wierd and i'd probably get beaten up or something. anwyay, a good night all round, except for the fact that I'm knackered today and felt a bit crap when I woke up. Anyway, here's some photos: Mattrick Futon in action Futon again. You shoudl have seen them bouncing. MentaL. Me & Yvonne- - matt adn Bobby Gay in teh backgound fabio on the dex with Mc moose lurking behind. I was disappointed he didn't call me the 'DOn KinG of DruM N Bass' on teh mic again though. Not sure who that guy was, but it was at movement MaTrique with the one like the MC DaRRisOn Posing by the big fountain thing inbetween Leicester Sq and Shaftsbury Ave in the Chinese restaurant All a bit partied out and HunGry for Rice At Paddington Don't mess with Me I WiLL coMpuTe yO 4 ReaL Sleeping people I don't know

> ManiK monday <
Good afternoon. Just got back from the gym - and yes, I am still doing the personal trainer thing - have been since May - mad really, 2 sessions a week with the mighty Wayne for almost 5 months - whooah, its been a long time! Alas, I haven't really lost much weight, but I'm way fitter now, and know loads more useful excercises and jsut general handy hints. Have been trying desperately to sort out my body clock these last 2 weeks, so deliberately arranged to meet at the gym earlyish, like 10:30 am - and whoah, I'm not very awake usually. Had been working late in the studio last night, so wasn't up to much when i got in there, late, but feel pretty roKKin now... Just did a bunch of cardio and some weights, and trying to get better at the balacning on the big ball thing and lift weights at the same time, feels a bit like a performing seal, but killer stability abs bizniz apparently! OH and last week Iused one of these things: a sort of inflated disk, and did this mad thing where you balance on it with one leg, then squat down at the same time. KiLLLLLer. Apart from that, my Rollerblading has improved, went 3 or 4 times with Steve last week, to a quiet carpark with nice flat tarmac - still havent fallen over, but hAvE come rather close. Steve does rollerblading icehockey stuff, so he's the don at skating, been pretty useful in getting me going. I can now turn left quite well, but not so good going right, and I can jsut about go up adn down curbs, but with all teh grace of a pregnant elephant seal. Video evidence here: (you may have to download the video file and load it into explorer or something): JOHN B ON THE LOLLERBLADESStudio wise - I guess I oughta sort out some clips really - recent stuff I've done, a remix for the Freestylers' their new single 'Boom Blast' - mighty electro-dnb afrika bambaaata styleee, a remix of "the theme from S'Express" for Mark Moore's new venture, biiig dancelfoor disco-DnB, and a few lo-key reworkings of 80s tracks just for DJing VIP type stuff. I also remixed my track "midnight air" for a new electro-DnB album project I'm finishing off at the moment, and am abotu 70% through another electroclash/rock kinda DnB track. Probably the last for a while though, I'm feeling the need to do some nasty dark DnB - more regular dancefloor stuff, cos its really been a long time since I did something that other Drum&Bass DJs can actually make use of! hah. OK, well i better get going - on top of al that, I gota do my VAT and tax return this week, do the shopping, spring clean the house, organise a gardener, mailout orders from the webstore, update the website, god knows what else - arg. WOuld be nice if i coudl just get up adn make tunes, but alas no.

> The B-Plan Diet <
Hello everybody - no pictures today, just a quick update. Oh and thanks for the concern/assistance on the fitness/health issues! I'm doing my best! Basically the John B diet is this - don't eat pasta or bread or mega carb0rific stuff - use your George Foreman grill a lot and cook nice chicken and fish things in it, and lots of vegetables. Make Omlets and thigns for breakfast - and eat porridge. Do your best to cut down wine intake - I'm going for weekends only, managing ok so far, since last week just had 2 glasses ov wine on Sunday. Nice. I feel better already actually, but its obvious that the only way I'm gona lose any weight is chilling out on that. OH and of course, mighty gym action is a musssst. I think my personal trainer account is about to run out - ive had about 30-40 sessions, think thats enough to get me back into the zone and has definitely taught me a lot of new excercies and things to do - my main problem was jsut getting bored and doin the wrong sort of stuff. Now I can do loads of mad new crunches and lift weights while balancing on the swiss ball (sometimes) and all sorts - and I'm back to running a lot too, which I think is one of my most favourite things to do, apart from the hurting legs its totally fun and ambient and great to get some fresh air. when im not out DJing its very easy to jsut stay inside in teh studio/office all day and turn into some computerised jabba-the-hut. anyway, enough ranting about that biznizzz. Oh I had some nice porridge this morning, bought these sachets that you jsut microwave with some milk, I forgot how oats-preparation has come on since the days when my mum used to stand there stirring it up in teh pan for half an hour....
other news... hmm, been preparing tracks for a mix cd im doing this week - and also finishing off some new tracks, so i can get the electro/dnb album dealt with. Am expecting promos for the next 2 releases on Nu Electro any day now, so have to get all the blurb for that ready too. Did a cool track at the weekend, originally with all my vocals, but I sounnded too wierd so I got some lovely American & Canadian ladies I konw to record vocals and transfer the files to me thru AIM - nice one. Sounds much better now, and quite a funny way to get vocals done - I've never even met one of the girls, Emily, her boyfriend just got in touch cos I was asking aroudn on some message boards if anyone wanted to help out. Ah, the wonders of the drumandbassinnternetnetworK.
OK, have to go now, am going to Cardiff with my Dad to collect all my sisters stuff - she has to move out of her flat and has no where new to take it - so we're gona have to go up adn down millions of stairs, bring it all back here, adn then presumably take it all back to Cardiff when she gets a new place organised... hah. It'll be nice to see some Welsh countryside though so I don't really care - but I do have a lot to do right now - VAT return due in on Thursday, and I've gotta sort some final stuff out for my US visa bizniz as well, not to mention all the exercise I'm supposed to be doing... ;-)
